Welcoming our community back to work

By White Rose Park September 2021

Last week, we hosted our “Welcome Back to Work Barbecue”, a celebration to welcome our on-site community back to The Park after COVID 19, and launch our new wellbeing programme with hero wellbeing.

Here are some of our highlights from the day:

After such a turbulent period with lockdowns and working from home, it was fantastic to see so many people back at The Park. Above, David Aspin, owner of Munroe K and White Rose Park, and Stuart Hale, Strategic Director at hero.

A queue of people outside a building for a barbecue

Even though the clouds were banking in the morning, we were pleased to see some blue skies appear! Although it was quite windy – we even had to batten down the gazebo! The barbecue kicked off at midday – but the queues didn’t die down until mid-afternoon.

Serving barbecue food, with burgers and cheese

The food – served by the team in The Hub – was definitely a real highlight! With burgers, hot-dogs, chicken and salad up for grabs, it’s no surprise that people were queueing all the way back to the terrace.

A man using a mixer, performing live music

The atmosphere was lifted thanks to live music, provided by Logan Aspin. His funky beats are definitely good for the soul! You can check out Logan’s Spotify here.

The hero wellbeing team were also on-site, helping people sign up to the new White Rose Park Wellbeing app. Watch out for the hero wellbeing team on-site in the coming weeks, offering weekly yoga sessions and much more!

There’s nothing like a bit of stretching out after a barbecue to help you relax before going back to work!

In another exciting partnership, we also welcomed retailers from White Rose Shopping Centre to site. The Park community can now take advantage of a host of exclusive offers and discounts from retailers at the White Rose Shopping Centre, including Lush, the Escapologist, and Boots!

Finally, we also welcomed representatives from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, who were collecting opinions on the proposed new White Rose Railway Station. It’s fair to say that there’s unparalleled support for the new station from the on-site community!

All in all, a great day! We can’t wait to welcome more people back to the site permanently in the coming months.
